Winter Dreams with Desigual

There is something fantastical about Desigual's fashion collections and the new 2011 Autumn Winter Desigual Dream collection on is no exception. Our first few styles have arrived with more due in September.

Desigual breaks the mold but Spain has always had its own distinctive fashion sense and that's why so many Spanish fashion labels appeal to us at loveithaveit. Whilst there is a very traditional side to Spain, traditional Spanish dress has always been flamboyant and colourful, reflecting the passionate Spanish culture.

Since the 16th century Spain has been known for its fashion and elegance. The fabrics used for making traditional clothes were rich and heavy with embellishments in metallic threads and jewels. The Moorish culture was also a heavy influence, using rich embroidery and beadwork.

Modern day Spain is known for its modern art, cutting edge architectural designs and daring fashion labels. And Desigual fits into this with its strong modern identity, edgy design and aspirational appeal.

Loveithaveit took on the Desigual brand just as it was emerging in the UK and was one of the first to sell it online. It has grown from a brand that a well kept secret to one with a large international following. Last Minute Nerves!

It's not just the bride who can suffer last minute nerves before the wedding day. Being a guest and choosing the right outfit is a BIG deal for us women! It's our chance to really enjoy dressing up and going to town on a gorgeous outfit. Planning often starts several months before, but it's not only fun choosing an outfit, it's nerve racking because it HAS to be right!

In our Dorset Lyme Regis shop (The Terrace) we have plenty of experience of this, not least because we're next to the Lyme Regis Guildhall where weddings take place most weeks. So, Saturdays are always enjoyable as we get to see a parade of outfits ... heels, hats, dresses and jackets ... and it always stops other visitors in their tracks as they outfit spot!

But finding that wedding or special occasion outfit can be a trauma, not least because you want to wear something that no-one else will be in (remember Kate and William's wedding and their three guests wearing the same dress).

Go to the high street and your chances of that happening are multiplied. So our advice is to find an individual boutique with designer labels that you can't find on the high street. Contrary to belief, it doesn't have to cost a fortune and could even cost you less than going to a department store for example.

Today, we sold several wedding outfits and it is always so enjoyable to help someone find an outfit in which they will feel confident and not least comfortable.

One combination we sold today, and I have to say our customer looked fantastic in it as it was perfectly suited to her figure, was the Darling Beatrice Dress (a simple short dress with long, full sleeves) with our Taupe jewelled shoes. No last minute nerves for her!

New Hultquist Jewellery To Treasure

There are some pieces of jewellery that you wear again and again and  you just never tire of them. For me, a few of my favourite pieces are from the Hultquist jewellery collection. Somehow, they seem timeless and unlike much of the fashion jewellery about these days, I know it will last more than two outings!

This summer's new Hultquist collection on is no exception. Whilst it picks up on some of the 2011 summer fashion jewellery trends, the pieces are both feminine and enduring.

Natural inspirations such as leaves, seeds, shells, pods, sea creatures and bugs along with ethnic look materials such as natural beads and semi-precious stones are all used in this beautiful and original collection. The Hultquist jewellery is silver or gold plate which is often worked to give it a look of antiquity. has a selection of jewellery carefully chosen from three Hultquist ranges including Relic, Bohemian Journey and Sea Treasures. Bracelets and necklaces can be mixed and matched from the collections, all complementing each other.

Established in 1980, Anne Hultquist and her team are now based in a workshop in Copenhagen where their beautiful jewellery is handmade. Her feminine and bohemian fashion jewellery is influenced by the classical Scandinavian look, which aims to express individualism and style, jewellery that is inspired by the wonderful mixture of different cultures from past, present and future.

Wild Designs!

Take a walk on the wild side with the new Botanica range we've just introduced, inspired by summer gardens.

The range includes handbags, wallets, purses, passport covers & luggage tags, notebooks and flasks.

The Botanica range is a new nature-inspired range which has retro chic. Beautifully drawn illustrations of butterflies, dragonflies, moths and other garden creatures adorn the range. Navy & white polka dots edge the design and a funky large yellow and white polka dot print is used in the interiors.
